Matt Knutson
Matt is an executive media leader, showrunner, and director built on a single core belief: the most powerful brands and networks don’t just broadcast content—they tell stories that shape culture and drive impact.
With more than two decades of experience across national streaming platforms, legacy broadcast, and high-profile live events, Matt has spearheaded high-performing creative organizations and launched franchise programming that connects deeply with audiences. As the founder of Six Corners Creative and former Vice President of Multi-Platform Content for NBCUniversal Local Chicago, he has continually bridged the gap between high-level brand strategy and authentic, story-first execution.
Throughout his career—spanning leadership roles at NBCUniversal, ABC7 Chicago, WGN-TV, and Cox Interior—Matt has proved that storytelling and business strategy are inextricably linked. He has conceptualized and executive produced award-winning original franchises, including three seasons of Peacock’s GLAAD-nominated It's OK to Ask Questions, the Emmy-winning documentary The Deadliest Year, and scalable streaming models for Hulu’s Localish and Being Blago.
Beyond the screen, Matt directs and supervises global live productions for world-renowned institutions, artists, and events—including the Obama Presidential Center Grand Opening, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, and marquee network specials.
Whether partner-building with likeminded networks, championing mission-driven narratives, or aligning enterprise brands with content that moves the needle, Matt operates with a simple, disciplined focus: deliver high-impact storytelling that resonates across every platform.
He is an 13-time Midwest Emmy Award winner, a 3-time GLAAD Media Award nominee, and a member of the Directors Guild of America.
